Please be reminded that its bearer has the right to enter the campus, pick up the child and bring him/her home without being questioned. The gate pass gives the bearer full access to the school area and the people therein as well. We are therefore extra careful in handing it over.

Transportation operators should make arrangements with the parents of their clients as to who will keep the gate pass. Said operators should see to it that the children entrusted to them by the parents must fall in line and wait properly — no playing while waiting — and enter the vehicle without troubles or delays. The pupils must wait inside the vehicles and are not allowed to run around. This is the responsibility of the operators as soon as we release the children. The operators or their helpers must be the ones to accompany the children to their vehicles.

The loss of ID or gate pass should be reported immediately to the Office. With IDs, there is not much of a problem. One should just order another at his/her expense. Losing the gate pass is critical. Although we can always issue another one at your own expense, do not forget that anyone who has a gate pass has full access to the campus. The finder of a lost gate pass can misuse it. We request each person who would find a gate pass to deposit it without delay by the Lost & Found section at the Office.

PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE SCHOOL

Pupils are not allowed to leave the immediate premises (within the perimeter of the steel fences separating the parking space from the main building area) during school hours. There is nothing in between. And Blue Danube will not enter into compromises. You have to understand that the higher the level of the pupil is, the harder the subject matters are and the quicker the pupil must cope up. Simply put, we cannot spend time for, let's say, Grade 1 pupils like we give to Nursery Level children. This is part of serious and solid schooling. There is no shortcut or whatever. It is a normal process for a decent school. Painful as it is, both for old timers and newcomers, they have to meet the academic standard as well as the behavioral expectations of our school.

All examinations will be announced early enough. Surprise tests are strictly prohibited in Blue Danube and the coverage must be topics already taken up in class. We are not here to "catch" those who do not have good study habits. The pupils must learn what is being taught to them. That is our only point of interest.

For quizzes, specific pointers will be given (textbooks, notebooks, folders, written exercises). For monthly and periodical exams, reviewers will be provided, as in the past years. Knowledgeable working parents will definitely appreciate this service, since they can review their children even in bed. Should a pupil be absent during a test due to illness, it is permitted that he or she can take the test later, but as soon as possible. Other than reasons due to sickness, a pupil must have a valid and official excuse for not taking the tests on schedule. Not sending your child to take a test due to unpreparedness is dishonest, unfair and shall be subject to sanctions.

During examinations , only one parent or guardian should be present as a witness, whereby he/she should affix his/her signature on the designated test paper before he/she leaves the room after the exams. Witnesses are not allowed to talk with any teacher or pupil, nor may they interfere with what is going on during exams. All these are for the sake of transparency and fairness. Favoritism does not have a place in Blue Danube. This has been proven for the past ten years.

In English Reading and English Language, the policy of WRONG SPELLING = FULL MISTAKE (0 point) will be implemented immediately from the start of the quizzes. In all other subjects, WRONG SPELLING = HALF MISTAKE (1/2 point) will be the norm until the end of the First Grading Period. Thereafter, wrong spellings will be considered as full mistake.

For all Elementary Levels, our usual practice of test retakes (THE AUSTRIAN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PRACTICES THIS SYSTEM - their constant analysis and implementation of this practice make this system more plausible) if more than 50%of the class should fail would go on. The higher score among the two tests will be upheld and recognized. This ruling is, from the point of view of Blue Danube, for the general protection and good of pupils who might have needed more time in absorbing particular subject matters. A day or two would be given to have the retake. Our purpose is for pupils to learn and comprehend, not to catch and punish unprepared ones, especially if it is obvious that there was not ample time given to them to fully grasp the concepts. This policy is simply to assure that nobody is left out, unless the record shows that the pupil's average performance is obviously poor.

Arguments of unfairness to those who did well during the first test are understandable; but the inner perspective of the school and this particular policy had been written not to accommodate competing honor pupils but to ensure that all pupils, be they average, above average or below average in their performance, be given another chance. Those who did well during the first test can always improve their scores. We see the situation from the point of view of humaneness and of the general good. Justice, equality and fairness can only be authentic if they are carried in the spirit of humaneness and charity. When one puts himself in the shoes of others, it is much easier to grasp what Blue Danube wants to convey all the time: Meticulously comparing scores of your child with those of others from the point of view of competition will only invite selfishness, egoism, inconsiderateness, malice, blind and baseless accusations of favoritism, envy, vanity, bad behavior, and unhealthy competition. Without looking through the eyes of humaneness and charity, arguments on justice, equality, and fairness will only end up in cruelty and lovelessness. Let us embrace the spirit of generosity and consideration to others. God will smile upon us if we do this.

For the giving of academic awards and for the computation of the final grades, only major subjects will be considered (English Language, English Reading, Mathematics, Science, Sibika/HEKASI, and Filipino). Minor subjects (Computer Science, Values Education, Music & Arts, Physical Education, Home Economics & Livelihood Education, and German Language) will be graded as E for Excellent (96-100), HS for Highly Satisfactory (91-95), S for Satisfactory (86-90), FS for Fairly Satisfactory (80-85), and NI for Needs Improvement (79 & below), but will not affect the computation of final rating. Conduct, as well, will not affect the final grade of a pupil.

For the major subjects, we will be using the Base 50 rating system. This means that the computation is: The raw score of any test multiplied by 50, then divided by the number of items asked, and lastly, adding 50. If the pupil, therefore, would make a perfect score, the grade will be 100%.

Quizzes will comprise 30%, the Monthly Test 35%, and the Periodical Test 35% of each grading period.

Best in Exams category means that the pupil averaged from 97% to 100%. Honorable Mention category means that the pupil averaged from 94% to 96%.

The cumulative system of grading is used in calculating the grades of the pupils. The final grade will be computed based on the following quarterly results:

1st GRADING PERIOD 20%, 2nd GRADING PERIOD 20%, 3rd GRADING PERIOD 20%, 4th GRADING PERIOD 40%.

For Grade 6, the valedictorian shall not have a final grade lower than 94% in any major subject. Otherwise, only a salutatorian award will be given, whereby the salutatorian shall not have a final grade lower than 92%.

Likewise for the Elementary Department, if a pupil will get a grade below 75% in two major subjects based on the final rating, he or she will automatically repeat the level in Blue Danube School even if the general average is 75% and above, OR he or she will be recommended to transfer to another school. To fail in one major subject means to take remedial classes in summer (May). If the pupil still fails to pass the remedial classes, he or she has to remain in the same level in Blue Danube School, OR he or she will be recommended to transfer to another school.

If there be an error in the computation of scores, please notify the Office immediately so that necessary corrections could be made. Teachers are neither perfect persons, nor are they pre-programmed robots. They, as well as any other, can make mistakes.

11 Years of Service to San Pablo City, Alaminos, Rizal, Nagcarlan, Liliw, Calauan and Tiaong (Quezon)

Welcome to a new School Year! It was not yet long ago when spouses Prof.Mag.Dr. Alfredo and Gerlinde started their project: Blue Danube School in Efarca Village offering Pre-School courses. Destiny had led us from Efarca Village (Pre-School 2000-2005), to a brief stay in Schetelig Avenue (Pre-School 2005-2006), and then to the present school campus in Barangay San Jose (Pre-School & Elementary).

In two years, we will be transferring to our permanent campus in Palawan St., GREEN VALLEY SUBDIVISION, 5 minutes from the present site.

May the spirit of Blue Danube 2000 live on with the unrelenting help of God and the dedication and selfless sacrifice of every team member!

Blue Danube is not just an educational institution. It is a way of life... a vocation... a dream... a haven of genuine passion for service to our present society, particularly to children in their early formative stage.

Mr. & Mrs. Ferrer planted a seed in the year 2000 that grew into a young, yet strong and healthy fruit-bearing tree. Members of the administrative staff, the whole faculty and personnel should see to it that this tree would continue to grow. They should strive to maintain and promote the Mission and Vision of the school as they were eight years ago.

With determination and dedication to the principles of a more humane humanity, justice, and passion for educating the young of today, Blue Danube will move on, focusing on one single goal: to provide a solid academic and character formation for every child entrusted to it. No more, no less. There is no place for illusions here. As realists, we will answer the needs of children as we deem it necessary HERE AND NOW. It is therefore self-explanatory that Blue Danube is conceived and perceived by its founders/owners as an institution of honest learning and community service; not as a business venture.

Mission and Vision - Then and Now

"OUR MISSION is to plant and nourish seeds of intellectual competence, a strong ethical & moral awareness, spiritual maturity, nobility & decency, and social sensitivity in the minds and hearts of children. These, our pupils, with constant care and guidance, will be our sole inspiration. In the faces of these children, we see the future; not financial profit.

OUR VISION is to see that the seeds that we planted and nourished would, in the future, be trees, mightily standing and deeply rooted, bearing fruits and giving shelter to all living creatures. FROM NOTHING COMES NOTHING. But nobility and decency, wisdom and knowledge, righteousness and moral ascendancy, can only result in something beautiful, something so deeply humane, something so wonderfully divine. In the end, all these would lead to that what we ardently and fervently wish: TO BE ABLE TO BRING BACK HUMANENESS TO HUMANITY. May the God of this universe remain our sole fountain of strength and determination. Coming late on a regular basis does not only put a pupil on a disadvantage regarding learning, but distracts the normal course of teaching. Unfair to the others and unfair to the latecomer. Another factor is that your attitude of not being punctual for your child’s sake reflects how you care about the welfare of the pupil, both academically and discipline-wise. It also shows disrespect to the very institution that is molding your very own child. Let us be responsible guardians and adults. Let not our children suffer due to our habits or wrong mentality.
Only one guardian is allowed for every pupil and he/she is supposed to stay either at the canteen or waiting areas.

The canteen is privately managed since the start of the school year 2006-2007 and is not run by Blue Danube. All matters pertaining thereto should be addressed to the canteen management. Only in matters of non-compliance with school policies within the canteen will the Administration step-in. Otherwise, our concentration and focus remain on the education of pupils.
Decency in action, words, and clothing is mandatory for all who are within the campus. We are very particular about the following: Shouting, laughing/talking/whistling/singing loudly, private sound systems that can be heard by others, putting feet on chairs/tables/benches, cutting toe/finger nails, creating a scandal in whatever form, entering the campus under the influence of drugs or alcohol, bringing deadly weapons, disrespect and arrogance to school personnel, teachers, security guards and persons belonging to the Administration, entering classrooms without permission from the Administration, tampering with exercises/test papers/report cards/certifications, malicious mischief and grave misconduct like telling jokes in a very bad or insulting taste, bombarding the Office with phone calls (you should talk personally to us rather than over the phone), rumor mongering, creating intrigues, spreading lies, libel, slander, always complaining to others instead of going to the Office, thus creating a very negative atmosphere, whether at the canteen or anywhere else, vandalism, grave threat to any person, lewd or immoral acts, bringing of indecent or pornographic materials, unsolicited meddling with the affairs of the Faculty or Administration, will be dealt with accordingly (legal actions, if necessary). Any person can be banned from entering a private school campus if a major rule or norm would be blatantly broken. The enrollment of your children here is voluntary and not coerced or forced. You must therefore abide by and accept our school policies.
Nevertheless, rest assured that whatever parents or guardians might do against school policies, your child will not suffer any consequence. Just as there is no room for favoritism here, so is there absolutely no place for revenge and picking on children. This practice of our school is proven through the years. Blue Danube is here to support, guide and educate pupils. Our priority will always be your children. All others are secondary.
As per school policies, teachers, personnel, security guards are not allowed to chat or enter into long private conversations with parents or guardians. This is a preventive measure against possible favoritism, envy, jealousy, false accusations and malicious thoughts – for short, to avoid eventual problems that might arise from such situations. In the same manner, parents and guardians are not allowed to confront, argue with or verbally attack any teacher, personnel or school authority.
Fighting or quarreling among adults within the campus is absolutely against our policy of harmony and decency. Our school is not the proper venue to solve personal problems that have nothing to do with the education of your children.
All matters will be discussed intelligently, objectively and decently at the Guidance Counseling Office if the problems have something to do with our pupils. We strictly deal with facts and evidences only. Not with opinions or personal whims. Blue Danube has its clear regulations and policies.
Never ever call a teacher or any person within the Administration “ineng, hija, totoy, or hijo.” Though young, our team is a team of professionals. Thus, due respect should be given to them.
Reading and signing all newsletters is obligatory, as stated in the legally binding enrollment form and contract. Updated posts on billboards around the campus and canteen should also be read by parents and guardians as well as pupils. Problems will always arise if notices, newsletters and memos from the Administration are not read and followed. Nobody is exempted from campus rules & regulations. Just as we do our part in giving our best for the academic and character formation of your children, so should you do your part as well. We are teaching your children to behave and follow rules. Grown-ups should set the example for young ones in and out of the campus.

Rules for Pupils

In enrolling your child at our school, it should be clear that you have to follow our rules and regulations. There are valid reasons why we have certain policies, all of which are for the good of your child. Let it be therefore clear, that it is the obligation of every pupil to follow what the school has established as rules.

Strictly no running, pushing, elbowing, shouting and overtaking along the corridors, in the classrooms, elsewhere other than the playground (whereby we cannot control and supervise the use of the playground) and canteen, as well as in the playroom. No bullying or fighting anywhere in the campus. Shouting and fooling around in the comfort rooms are in the same manner not allowed. Hitting or hurting schoolmates, cursing, saying bad or indecent words, committing lewd and immoral acts, bringing pornographic materials, rudeness and disrespect to persons of authority either in words or in actions, regularly distracting classes in whatever manner, vandalism in any form, writing or carving on walls, desks, chairs and other school facilities, stealing, taking things against the will of the owner or without his/her permission, cheating, threatening classmates, touching or exposing private body parts, writing "love letters" to persons of authority or schoolmates (It is too early for such matters – focus on learning first!), tampering and forging exercises/test papers/report cards/certifications, making false accusations or ganging-up on a pupil or a group of pupils – all these will have disciplinary consequences, first with verbal warnings from the Guidance Counselor, then with a written warning from the latter, and if still repeatedly done or no improvement is seen, with either suspension or dismissal from the school in written form. Blue Danube takes behavior and discipline very seriously.

Pupils are not allowed to enter the classrooms of others at anytime. Permission from the Office is required. You are not allowed to leave the immediate premises (within the perimeter of the steel fences separating the parking space from the main building area) during school hours. If the steel chains by the exits/entrances at the end of both corridors are put on place, no pupil is allowed to go out without permission from the Office.

Along the corridors of the main building, it is emphasized that children walk along the rails (outer lane) and not at the side where the classroom doors are. We can easily avoid unwanted accidents if this would be followed. In case doors would be opened, they will always be safe if they take the outer lane. The school will not be responsible for accidents due to non-compliance with school rules.

Private toys, gadgets and games do not need to be brought to school. You have all the time to play with them after classes. They are not allowed at Blue Danube. The same rule applies to wearing or bringing expensive jewelry or materials. Loss or damage to such can be avoided if you will stick to our regulations. The school will not be responsible for losses of such.

Eating or drinking while walking along the corridors or in the office is prohibited. When a pupil is eating/drinking during recess or lunch break, be it in the classroom or canteen (they are allowed to have their meals in the classroom if they want) he or she must be seated. No standing, playing, messing around with the food or drink, or moving around until the meal is done. If somebody is still eating, do not disturb them.

If, during recess or lunch break, the pupils would want to eat with their parents or guardian, they should go to the canteen. Otherwise, pupils should eat alone in their classrooms. Parents or guardians should hand-over their food or drinks by the entrance/exit. The ruling stands: no parents or guardians allowed along the corridors and in the classrooms. Only if they have anything to do with the Office may they enter the main building. Parents and guardians should repeat and explain these basic policies to their children.

Destroyed facilities or materials shall be replaced or paid for by the pupil's parents or legal guardian. Do not point to others if the mistake is clearly yours. Blue Danube is not here for mere academic formation, but for character formation as well. Just as we had been consistently advising children to strictly follow school rules, we ask your support, dear parents and guardians, in reminding them, too, whether at home or in the campus, about the importance of abiding by our policies

Reminder regarding Witnesses

It must be reiterated that witnesses are NEVER ALLOWED TO MEDDLE WITH OR INTERFERE IN WHATEVER MANNER during tests. SURPRISE TESTS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED IN BLUE DANUBE. AND THE COVERAGE MUST BE TOPICS ALREADY TAKEN UP IN CLASS. We are not here to "catch" those who do not have good study habits. The pupils must learn what is being taught to them. THAT IS OUR ONLY POINT OF INTEREST.

For quizzes, specific pointers will be given (textbooks, notebooks, folders, written exercises). For monthly and periodical exams, reviewers will be provided, as in the past years. Knowledgeable working parents will definitely appreciate this service, since they can review their children even in bed.

During examinations in the Elementary Levels, only one parent or guardian must be present as a witness, whereby he/she should affix his/her signature on the designated record book before he/she leaves the room after the exams. This has been proven for the past eight years. For the Pre-School Department, both parents are allowed to be present. The joy of seeing their kids taking oral examinations (one-on-one with the examiner) is incomparable and unforgettable.

Our basic rule stands: NO WITNESS, NO TEST. It can be used for godly purposes or it can be worshiped as a god. It all depends upon us. Let us choose wisely. Money should be our slave. Not the other way around".

From the Diary, A. Ferrer, 1985, Karachi, Pakistan:

"Some people have a strong tendency to look for faults, loopholes, weak points, petty and insignificant matters regarding everything that is in front of their eyes. It is a pity to see them focus and concentrate on one particular imperfect leaf or bark of a tree because in doing so, they will lose sight of the grand beauty of the forest".

From the Diary, A. Ferrer, 1985, somewhere in Hannover, Germany:

“Hunger is, as such, negative. But nevertheless, it is a much lesser evil in comparison to Greed. In fact, there is no plausible comparison between the two. Hunger can be stilled with a generous portion of a decent meal. But greed? Greed is insatiable. No amount of portion, be it generous or little, can satisfy greed. It is not a mere virus of the society, but a malignant cancer that should be taken away as soon as possible, in order to save what is still left of what has been once a healthy part of social life. Greed can be found nowhere else but in the very core of human beings infested and corrupted by it. Money, power, influence, property, or all of the aforementioned are the ‘foods’ of greed: Foods that will never fill up a bottomless hole. People from all walks of life are both victims and carriers of this cancer. I am not for eliminating walking cancers, my friend. But we can do something directly against the situation:

DO NOT FEED THEM.
DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO INFEST ANYBODY, FROM TODDLERS TO ADULTS.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.
DO NOT WORK FOR OR WITH THEM.
AVOID THEM WITH ALL YOUR POWER AND DETERMINATION.
DO NOT VOTE THEM INTO OFFICE, WHETHER GOVERNMENTAL OR ECCLESIASTICAL.
DO NOT SHOW RESPECT FOR THEM BECAUSE THAT WILL SEND A DEADLY SIGNAL OF TOLERANCE, ACCEPTANCE OR IMMORAL INDIFFERENCE.
DESPISE THEM AND LET THEM FEEL THAT THEY ARE DESPISED.
DON’T GET CARRIED AWAY BY THEIR SWEET TALKS AND PROMISES.
NEVER EVER ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THEM. CANCER CELLS SPREAD RAPIDLY. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THEY HAVE GOTTEN YOU ALREADY.

And yet, my friend, every person can change from within… a thorough change… a METANOIA. Should there be clear and genuine transformation, authenticated by deeds and action, another chance should be given them. Just as we would want another chance after true repentance, so should we be to our fellowmen. But unless there is this METANOIA, be strong and determined to fight this devastating social cancer called Greed.”

SUPREME COURT JUSTICE TO SPEAK AT OUR GRADUATION 2011

Since we are celebrating 10 years of Blue Danube, we have decided to have a guest speaker for the first time. I am weak and short-lived, lacking in comprehension of judgment and of laws.

What man knows God's counsel? Who can know what the Lord intends? The deliberation of mortals are unsure. The corruptible body burdens the soul.

My child, those who forsook wisdom were bereft of knowledge of what is right. Cling to her with your whole life.

My child, God rebukes offenders little by little, warn them, and remind them of the sins they are committing, that they may abandon their wickedness.

My child, fear of God warms the heart, giving gladness and joy. He who fears the Lord will have a happy end. On the day of his death he will be blessed.

Children, pay heed to a father's right, that you may live. He who honors his father atones for sins. He who reveres his mother stores up riches. He who honors his father is heard when he prays. He will have long life.

My child, the just man falls seven times and rises again. But the wicked stumble to ruin.

Rejoice not when your enemy falls. When he stumbles, let not your heart exult, lest the Lord be displeased with you and withdraw his wrath from your enemy.

He who proclaims the wicked as just - men will curse him and people will denounce him. But those who convict the evildoer will be blessed with prosperity, my child.

Remember, like golden apples in silver settings are words spoken at the proper time.

Evil men understand nothing of justice. But those who seek God understands all.

My child, when the just is triumphant, there is great jubilation. But when the wicked gain preeminence, people hide.

He who gives to the poor suffers no want. But he who ignores them gets many a curse.

God will protect Blue Danube from all evil motives of the wicked.

My dear child, stay away from a hot-headed person. He is the cause of many sins.

Two things I ask from Yahweh: Put falsehood and lying far from me. Give me neither riches nor poverty. Provide me only with the food I need.

The eye that mocks a father, or scorns a mother, will be plucked out.

My child, he who despises wisdom and instruction is doomed. Vain is their hope, fruitless are their labors, worthless are their works.

To observe the laws of wisdom is the basis for incorruptibility. And incorruptibility makes one close to God.

Pray, my child, and prudence will be given to you. Choose virtue over riches. Then you will be great.

In wisdom is a spirit intelligent, holy, unique, clear, unstained, certain, kind, firm, secure and tranquil.

why do you glory in evil, you scandalous liar? All day long you plot destruction. Your tongue is like a razor, you skillful deceiver. You love evil rather than good, lies rather than honest speech. You love any word that destroys, you deceitful tongue. Now God will strike you down.

Life is about how one lives it. One has the choice to live nobly or to be a rascal. God sees everything.

My child, the Sacred Scriptures should be a major part of your life. God's words are the fountain of life.

All that I am telling you everyday are inspired by God's words or my life experience and acquired knowledge, my child. Fear of the Lord is the first step. Every day. By every decision.

As always, when the just prevail, the people rejoice. But when the wicked rule, the people groan. Pray therefore that the wicked would never win.

The just man cares for the rights of the poor. The wicked man has no such concern.

My God, my God, please heal me and relieve me from my sufferings. Your faithful love and saving justice are all I have.

Correction gives wisdom. But a child left to his whims disgraces his mother.

Correct your child, and he will bring you comfort, and give delight to your soul.

If a man pampers his child, he will turn out to be very stubborn.

Worth Pondering Upon 11

Eliot says, books are the quietest and most constant friends, most accessible and wisest counselors, and most patient teachers.

Nietzsche says, it is my ambition to say in ten sentences what others say in whole books.

Many praise the idea of brotherhood of men but can't even get along with those around them.

My child, do not get tired of praying. Only then can we bear sufferings and misery.

My child, revenge is the last resort of human beings. But I still prefer forgiveness. Then you are divine!

St. Paul says, greed is the same thing as worshiping a false god.

If you practice human anger, hot temper, malice, abusive language and dirty talk, you are walking hand in hand with the devil.

My child, be a coward if it's about doing the wrong thing. But be fearless in standing up for the right thing.

Be kind and gentle to the sick and needy.

A soft and polite answer mellows down anger.

As Horatius says, anger is a brief madness.

A bird in a cage makes Heaven angry.

Some are so obsessed with anger that they don't see the gradual change in them: from sane to insane.

Indifference is one of the highest among evils. Many are practicing it. Those who don't care about others at all.

The essence of inhumanity is NOT TO CARE.

A good person is a beautiful person.

True faith is believing that God is in control, no matter how miserable we are.

The most evil persons can quote from the bible for their motives.

Yahweh, please heal me.

My child, God gave us only one life. Use this big chance to show him that it was worth creating you. we are in this world to be godly.

If God would appear to you now and ask what you are doing with the money, intelligence, health and power he entrusted to you, can you honestly answer that you are using them for his sake and glory?

When you advice, be brief. You must be on the very wrong side.

All life is passing. Make others not miserable as well as yourself. The more you hate, the less you remain human. The less human you become, the more you embrace the animal world.

You were once poor and needy. Why are you now so vain and arrogant? You yourself are inviting people to hate you. There will be dancing instead of mourning at the news of your death. Yes, people will rejoice.

Avoid trusting yourself too much. We are all a mere dot in this universe. Put your trust in Yahweh alone. You'll be in the best hands.

Human eyes tend to see the daily course of life with the loss/profit vision. Only with godly eyes can we see the real beauty of life.

The good thing about putting everything in God's hands is that whatever happens, you win because His will was done.

Having a good conscience is like having continuous feasting.

Courage is not the absence, but the mastery of fear.

A good shortcut to be rich is to lessen our desires.

Most people would succeed in small things if they were not troubled with high ambitions.

Science may have found a cure for most evils but found no remedy for the worst of them all - the apathy and indifference of human beings.

Books are the quietest and most constant of friends. I went home and prayed very hard: Dear God, please protect children and parents from such schools.

I want death to meet me while I am watering my garden, with my dogs near me, and my family waving at me from the veranda.

Human judiciary can be so dirty that the most innocent are made to suffer. Those who don't know you will think you're a fool as well.

I heard you. I really understand you. But it doesn't mean I must take you seriously.

Smell the flowers and appreciate their beauty. But don't pick them. Listen to the birds singing and drown your heart in nature's music. But don't catch them and put them in a cage.

Blessed be Yahweh forever!

Just as revamp and restructuring is needed in government and enterprises if things should change, so it is with our heart, soul and mind. Nothing is too late.

If the innocent is punished through wicked people, be sure that Yahweh will act swiftly.

The Philippine society is not interesting to Satan. It is but natural, for one is just human. But the supernatural and spiritual factors will carry one through all hardships. Trust in God. Put everything in His hands. He will defend you. He will protect you. He will save you. Just cling to Him no matter what happens. If you are with God, who can win against you?

Life is short. Let's make it worthwhile. Give. Share. Sympathize. Love. Then will your life be fulfilled.

Whatever happens, never allow yourself to be influenced by money and power. You'll regret it.

Movie & TV stars are strange. They work hard to be famous, then they hide away from people.

Skin-whitening products all over! Soul-whitening actions forgotten.

My love, when will time come when no words are needed to say to each other: I love You.

I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am, when I am with you.

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Censor TV shows and in three generations, we'll have a new world.

If a dog smiles like a person, it's beautiful. If a person smiles like a dog, it's creepy.

It's my tobacco pipe hanging from my mouth, not my tongue. Thank God!

I have always loved silence. Then I ventured to be among people. The more I treasured silence.

Solitude is not for everyone. Many love the stage and the applause. Yet if ever I would ask for good counsel, I will definitely go to a man of solitude and avoid the one who likes the crowd.

In the dark, everyone is beautiful.

The fool will want to be at level seven already without passing the first six.

Blessed are they who know how to apologize. Their humility makes them godly.

Believe and have faith. You have nothing to lose. Refuse to believe and you might regret it.

Experience is a hard teacher. The test comes first, then the lessons afterward.

The greatest of faults is to believe you have none.

Tell me what you eat, and I will say who you are.

A fool always finds a bigger fool to admire him.

Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.

What is a friend? A single soul dwelling in two bodies.

Whom the gods want to destroy, they first make crazy.

There is no great genius without a touch of madness.

When I give, I give not part, but my whole self.

Waste no time arguing what a good person must be. All who hear news of you clap their hands at your downfall, for who has not felt your unrelenting cruelty?

Guilty is he who makes his strength his god.

Nothing is more dangerous than an idea, when you have only one.

There is no cure for stupidity.

It is not enough to have a beautiful mind. Impatient people fall flat on their nose.

The wise man is never quick to open his mouth. He prefers silent observing and listening first.

Idle talk and conversation bring sorrow and trouble. Better choose silence.

Bad: To destroy others' property. Worse: To destroy others' reputation. Worst: To destroy others' life.

The reason why we have only one mouth but two eyes and ears is because we should see and listen more instead of talking.

Education produced people able to read but unable to tell what's worth reading.

I see who your enemies are. Now I know who you are.

The great Voltaire's only prayer was, "O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous". God granted it.

If the earth were a spaceship, I think the operation manual got lost.

You fight for equality because you have many people above you. If you were boss, would you care for equality?

Hysterical, over-acting fools on TV = hysterical, over-acting clowns to teach in school.

How one treats workers and laborers shows his true character.

Success at the expense of others is not success but shame.

Yahweh's faithful love and saving justice cannot be hindered by humans.

All human power and influence are from Yahweh. Misuse and abuse will always have God's punishment as a result.

My children were raised as freethinkers and I have never regretted it. They can choose to remain Roman Catholics or embrace another faith where they can find their God and be good and noble persons.

Do not stop being generous to the needy. God is in them. How noble it is to "help" God!

The person who knows "how" will always have a job. The person who knows "why" will always be his boss.

One word frees us of all the pain in life: love.

A liar needs a good memory.

God heals, and the doctor takes the fee.

There is no greater sorrow than to recall happiness in times of misery.

Opera is when a guy gets stabbed and, instead of bleeding, starts to sing.

In nature, there is neither rewards nor punishments: only consequences.

Those who never change their opinions love themselves more than truth.

Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

They who leave feel not the pain of parting. It is they who stay behind that suffer.

Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even when there's no river.

When the Spaniards came to our country, they had the Bible and we had the land. They said, "let us pray". We closed our eyes. When we opened them, we had the Bible and they had the land.

The wish to pray is a prayer in itself.

Is it progress if a cannibal uses knife and fork?

Worth Pondering Upon 7

For the sake of earning a living, we forget to live.

If you're serious in ridiculous matters, you'll be ridiculous in serious matters.

We are moving toward a society where parents obey their children.

Dear God, please don't stop granting me the gift of faith. Even in the darkest of times, I will always survive. Just let me feel Your loving protection. Remember Your faithful love and saving justice. I have no one else to turn to. Day and night, You are the one who gives me enough strength to move on. I believe in You. I trust only You. My whole life is in Your hands. Let my faith grow stronger. Only then can I carry the burdens. Only then can I have peace of mind and heart. My family and loved-ones who are always in my heart will find refuge in You. You will let us dwell in Your house. Stop talking at the same time.

Stay away from loud people. They are a burden to the soul.

Listen. Don't just hear. See. Don't just look. Only then will you be able to read the signs of times.

The media brings to us all violence and crimes in the comfort of watching TV, day in and day out. No wonder we become slowly immune. And that is bad.

School recognition day is often a time of grief for me. I award academic medals to many intelligent pupils who utterly lack the values and mental set-up I wish and pray to see.

Better suffer than be the cause of suffering.

Thrifty to yourself but generous to the poor, that is a sure way to nobility.

Don't just meditate and pray. Act!

Politicians dream of winning. And we get the nightmares.

Alcoholism had been the ruin of many. Yahweh, heal me.

Why are we afraid to change for the better? Is it because of the sacrifice and humility it requires?

A politician asked me why he is not doing well in surveys. I said: You deserve it. You should not be in politics at all.

Supreme Court, Supreme Court, you ceased to be supreme. I now pronounce you Court Jesters.

First, know thyself. For us, it is a vocation… a calling… something sacred.

My child, if you love your family, show it now. Do not wait to regret being too late in letting them feel your true love.

Freemasonry is by nature spiritual. What the eyes behold are but reflections of the true essence.

Daily meditation is a fountain that quenches our spirit and body.

The high-nosed never rests. There is an abundance of people to look down upon.

The arrogant "new rich" are the plague of our society now. They don't have the nobility and simplicity of the old rich.

Happiness is good for our health, but grief and sorrow are the ones who develop the powers of the mind.

Sports do not build character. Look, I am now fighting to take it out of my system.

Nothing can separate us from the love of Yahweh.

The song of birds gives me deep pleasure. The gracefulness of butterflies, too. I thank Yahweh for Mother Nature!

God's saving justice cannot be influenced by human judiciary. Yahweh measures and judges differently.

To become master of others, you must become master of yourself.

How dare you not forgive! God forgives you every second of your life!

I am Invictus only if Yahweh is with me. Only if.

Pure morals and ethics is noble. Very. But genuine faith is of a much higher level. You are practically holding hands with God.

With mass media so massively influencing our lives, it should be strictly regulated by persons of wisdom and understanding. Not by mere paper credentials or political appointment.

I saw butterflies and dragonflies today. Long live Mother Nature!

I am powerless. I am weak. I am unworthy. Yahweh is the one doing everything, enabling me to think and act.

I wonder why many choose the path of evil. For worldly gains, they sleep with the devil. Yahweh, bring them back to you.

Two birds built a nest in our small bamboo bush a meter away from our terrace. How nice! Three eggs were laid. Great! They hatched today. Wonderful is Mother Nature!

I'm dark-skinned like never before. I don't mind. The plants and animals need me, rain or shine. El Niño is a punishing phenomenon. But my plants will survive. So will my dogs. So what if they call me Nognog!

Live and let live! There is space and resources enough. Yahweh provides everything we need. Stop troubling your fellowmen. And stop wanting what is not yours!

We should not demand for miracles. Perseverance in prayers will do.

Worth Pondering Upon 6

In scientific boxing, you let the opponent throw all the punches. Your will be always done.

Yahweh, You allowed me to have illnesses that I have been carrying for more than 30 years now. They made me a pinch of the person I used to be. They make me vulnerable day by day. And yet You allow more and more blows, trials, failures and mistakes that I have to put up with. I want to ask and complain but I dare not. For You have always provided what I needed. But I suffer, my God. I suffer to the point of giving up. I am reaching the point where I want to be with my forefathers now. Yahweh, You are my refuge. I don't know Your plans. Your will be done.

Prayer and meditation heal so many wounds of the soul and bring us closer to God and to our real selves. Blessed are those whose life is a continuous prayer and meditation.

Cheats, liars and arrogant people have their tables finely set for their special daily guest: the Evil One.

Mother, I love you and I will make your last years happy.

Some people have the galls to present themselves as upright. But you make a background check, and so many are cursing them for the sufferings they had and still have due to the would-be uprights.

Yahweh, how precious is your faithful love! How incomparable your saving justice!

If you are a guest in a house, behave like a guest. The host will despise you and throw you out if you are shameless and arrogant.

Some people cheat, rob, maltreat, deceive, swindle, bring upright people unjustly to court, and they still expect to be treated with respect. Insane! Blind! Hopeless fools!

I know it's a delicate secret because everybody's whispering it all over.

A ship in harbor is safe. But that's not what ships are for.

He who conquers others is strong. He who conquers himself is mighty.

The small pain in our stomach bothers us more than the sufferings of millions of our fellowmen.

He who knows the world is learned. He who knows himself is wise.

The unexamined life is not worth living.

Blessed is the person who, having nothing to say, keeps his mouth shut.

To believe in God or not to, that was a question. And I gladly said: I believe. And that made a whole lot of difference.

If religious groups would focus more on God, they would not have those quarrels.

Freethinkers should not be branded as atheists. They just have a different approach to God.

Truth will always stand on its own. Then one loses strength and falls.

Never give up meditation and contemplation. You will never survive this cruel world without them.

The understanding, acceptance and love of our loved-ones matter most in the human aspect. Family life makes or breaks a person. There is no substitute to family.

It is easy to be tolerant if you don't care.

Some people have an adorable way of talking. Beware of them for the biggest swindlers have mastered rhetoric.

Any excuse is welcome to a cheat and liar.

The way society is right now, the future can look like this: Shoes stamping on a human face.

The older one gets to be, the more one should think what legacy to leave behind.

Noble deed and long showers are good for depression.

All sins are attempts to fill voids.

Many times do we hear why, why, why. Do this and life is yours.

If you set an impossible goal, despair will be your company.

Dreaming allows us to be quietly and safely insane every night.

Do not pour out your misery on somebody madly in love. He'll be half listening.

One thing in determining the character of a person is to observe how he talks to and treats waiters and waitresses.

I heard a pupil arrogantly talking to her neighbor: You're not from my clan. You're nothing! - So tragic...

The only privilege priests and pastors should have is the privilege to serve the poor and needy. All other things are flirting with the rich and powerful. For as long as there are Filipinos dying of hunger, the clergy has no right to be rich.

Read Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo carefully. Not much have changed after a hundred years. The faithful themselves hinder much needed change.

Everyone wants changes, if somebody else starts.

Jesus did not want the temple/church to be a place of business. Guess how much people pay for baptism, first communion, confirmation, weddings, burial, and so on.

Many people look but not see; hear but not listen.

You honor me with your words, but your hearts are far from me. We have a dark nature within us. What is abnormal is that humans choose to sin again and again without repentance and shame. At that point, animals are better than humans.

The healing power of God knows no limits. Persevere in asking. Be relentless in praying. God favors the sick.

Do not enrich yourself at the cost of others. Karma will not wait long.

My child, do not complain if the food on the table is not your favorite. There are millions who die of hunger. Thank God for the gift of having something to eat.

My child, special care and respect must be given to elders. One day, you will be old, too.

Every Sunday, the priest announces that that holy mass is sponsored by a particular person notorious for being so unchristian in daily life. And every Sunday, many of the faithful shake their heads in disbelief that that person is even trying to buy the way to heaven.

The way to God is always through charity to others. There is no shortcut. Not even prayers.

The downfall of the wicked is as sure as sunset everyday. So is the triumph of the upright like sunrise.

Guardian Angel, thank you for your embraces many times this day. I needed them!

It’s hard to forgive but do it. It’s freedom for you.

In the end, what matters is how you lived in relation to yourself and to your fellowmen.

True love is all that one needs to be able to achieve happiness, fulfillment and godliness.

Yahweh, you know what to do with people who are doing the exact opposite of what you command and demand from your creation.

I observe people rubbing their hands out of sheer satisfaction after making trouble for others. I sighed and thought about what awaits them here and in the afterlife.

Out of a bad situation caused by human wickedness, God will make something beautiful and everlasting. He always did for us.

Hell is to be with a noisy crowd without direction. Hell is also putting up with somebody with a loud mouth.

In silence and tranquility, the presence of God can be easily felt. In meditation, he speaks to us. In contemplation, we hear his message.

Home is where you are at peace with yourself and with your immediate environment.

It is easier to build a castle than a home.

Gandhi says that honesty is incompatible with amassing of a large fortune.

To hope is what the poor does all the time.

Stop making a big fuzz about what was unintentionally done to you. You yourself are not unblemished!

If a hospital is practically being run by nurses and aides, that’s a very bad sign.

A school should have a soul, otherwise, it’s just another business enterprise.

With a million new teachers every year, one cannot be choosy anymore. No one is irreplaceable in a school except the soul and it’s torch bearer.

Why do local TV shows have to put hysterical creatures all over? It’s not funny, nor entertaining. Not at all.

It is not fair. The farmers do the hard work and earn little. The land owners do little and earn much.

We’ll have SM Mall here soon. We’ll have traffic jams soon as well.

Love will never fade. True love will make all trials and sufferings look pale.

I look at the sky at night and marvel at its beauty. The universe is truly magnificent! I look at what is going on in my own life. It is not magnificent.

If you work for the salary, you have a job. If you work for a purpose, you have a profession. If you work for an ideal, you have a calling.

Yahweh will protect and avenge parents from respectless and thankless children.

If you are quick to judge others without looking closely in the mirror, you are one of the fools and wicked mentioned in the Holy Scriptures.

It's easy to see a righteous man. Just take a look at those who hate him: The Wicked.

What God is not, we can know. What and who God really is, we cannot know.

No one gossips about good deeds.

Do not cut branches of a good tree. You are messing with Mother Nature!

When I visit a country, I would always keenly observe how the old, the children, and the poor are being treated. I would then know in what country I am.

Repentance should not be only in Lenten Season. We hurt God all the time.

If family problems arise and there have to be decisions made, MONEY will always be a big factor.

Batch 2006-2007 Pre-School Preparatory Level

Alcance, John Jeea G.
